Random Thoughts: Choose hiding places carefully

I just read an article about a wonderful father, devoted to his children. I'm sure he sang to them and read to them and he even played games with them. Once they were playing hide-and-seek and he was "it." While the children were hiding their eyes and counting, he looked around for a really good place to hide. All at once he noticed the washing machine standing there and he thought that would be good, the children would never find him there, so he hopped in. It must have been a top-loader as he couldn't quite get the lid closed. Of course, they spied him. Then things got serious. Daddy couldn't get out. Finally, a fire squad came in and managed to extricate him. Now he is a wiser dad.

Have you ever seen a January like this? At night a big, beautiful full moon and plenty of sunshine in the daytime.

My son and daughter have the same birthday date. That was a problem when they were young. I had to put on two different parties and bake two cakes. This time they celebrated by meeting some friends who also were having birthdays. They all met at Beaumont Hotel. It is out in the country and has a landing strip. A friend of my son's and his wife flew them in his plane to the meeting place. The others were there to welcome them.

They had dinner there and the next morning they were served a hearty breakfast. They reported a fun and fine time.

Friday night we tried the new Country Lakes Café downtown. A lot of people were there and it was a fun place. The young waiters and waitresses entertained us with singing and dancing. After months of having a shortage of eating places, now we have lots of choices.
