Random Thoughts: Flamingos on the loose

If you see something large and pink flying overhead don't think it is a new star or planet. It is reported that a couple of flamingos have escaped the Wichita zoo. I don't know if they are lovers impersonating the runaway bride or just a coupe of friends on a fling. So far, they have eluded capture. We are told not to get too close to them if we see them, because they would get frightened and flee farther away.

In Hawaii a law has been passed that people can set up an estate for their pets, that will take care of them after their owners die.

Imagine being the executor in that sort of arrangement. You would have to be pretty trustworthy to handle that.

I just have one pet, a purple beta fish. All he needs is clean water in his bowl and a bit of fish food every day. There is a green plant with roots hanging in the bowl so if I forget to feed him he can nibble on the roots.

I haven't set up an estate for him as I expect to out-live him, but who knows? Surely someone in my loving family would take care of him. Wouldn't they?

Sometimes the question is asked, if you could be an animal what would you choose?

Maybe I would be a cat, they are very independent and difficult to constrain. Dogs are sometimes neglected, left out in the cold, heat, or rain. But people do love their dogs, kiss them, sleep with them, and are not too particular as to who owns them. I hope you didn't pop firecrackers near your pets, as they really don't like them.
