Random Thoughts: Late-night show a possibility

Well, it has been a busy time in the news. Johnny Carson died and he received a lot of attention. Well-deserved. I remember when he retired, I really felt the loss of his show. I'm a late-night person so I wondered what I would do without his entertaining show. I finally ended up watching the David Letterman presentation. Sometimes his stories are too rough for me, so then I turn to Charlie Rose on KPTS. Sometimes he's so anti-administration. I guess I'll have to start my own late-night show.

I watched a reunion of "Happy Days" and I was even shocked at some of their material. I guess I have "matured."

Elsie Reinke used to say we are not "old," we have just matured.

My icon, Martha Stewart, will be free next month. I understand she will still have a few months under house arrest. Anyway, she has an offer of two big shows, which should be interesting. I look for her to take up a stand for women's rights. Her past experience should furnish a lot of material.

I don't want to get into politics but I thought President Bush's speech on the state of the union was very good. I hope he and Congress will work together for the good of our nation. After all, that is why we elect them. I believe his thoughts on freedom in the world are worth working for. Let's hold the feet of our "representatives" to the fire!
