Random Thoughts: Opinions are nobody s business

If you read the Wichita Eagle you know they have a department where people can express their opinions. Some are serious, some amusing, and some downright mean. Not long ago there was one that I thought was hilarious. The person airing his or her view said, "It's no one's business what my opinion is."

Recently, Sotheby's, famous auction company, auctioned furniture, artwork, and knickknacks that had belonged to Jackie Kennedy. Even magazines and glass jars brought thousands of dollars.

I'm excited about the "around the world flight" which will be taking off from Salina. I understand there will be reporters there from all over the world. This flight brings back Lindbergh's famous non-stop flight to Paris. What a contrast in planes and plans.

I finished reading "I've Never Been An Old Man," written by Don Larsen. Don and his wife, Jacqueline are Marion County people transplanted to California.

I can't believe that a story about care-taking and illness could be a "page turner." At times it is humorous but the tender loving care for each other is the main theme. A good book to read.
