Random Thoughts: Visitors and invitations aplenty

My cup runneth over. On Friday, my friend Mary Costello came to call and we talked about books we've read. She belongs to a book club as do my two daughters. They enjoy the camaraderie of talking about what they have read.

Later Pat Jackson brought her daughter, Helen and her husband and young son. They are here visiting from California.

Right in the middle of everything my granddaughter, Kathy called and wants to come get me and take me back to McPherson. She wants to show me the beautiful new home they have built north of McPherson. I'm excited.

I hope you don't mind reading a little bit about "my day" as Eleanor Roosevelt called her column.

Wichita is having a problem with animals. They haven't caught the flamingos that escaped from the zoo. Now someone has found a four-foot alligator wandering around. They think someone brought it from Florida when it was tiny and now that it's big they don't know what to do with it, so just turned it loose. I wonder if they know it is a $500 fine and a 30-day stay in jail for doing that?

I think they also found a woman with 50 uncared-for cats so she is probably in trouble.

I feel so bad about that terrible terrorist attack in London. I always felt so safe there. Now with all those bad people I guess we will never feel safe again. Besides that we have lost our freedom unless we can catch them. We won't give up.
