Reception to mark Tony Meyer's 95th birthday years ago
A reception honoring Anton "Tony" Meyer's 95th birthday will be held from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Saturday at the Trinity Lutheran parish hall, Ramona.
The event will be hosted by friends, Jessica Gilbert and Pat Wick.
Tony was born March 3, 1912, west of Ramona on the Meyer homestead. He was one of 12 children of Gerhard and Wilhelmine Meyer.
After a distinguished naval career, Tony lived in San Francisco for much of his life, returning to Ramona for several months during the summers to tend his cattle at Golden Gate Ranch, west of Ramona.
He moved to Ramona in 2000 and holds the title of "Ramona's oldest resident."
