Richard Martin Sr.
Richard C. Martin Sr., 70, died Aug. 26, 2006, at his home in Herington.
Born Nov. 19, 1935, at Edcouch, Texas, he was the son of Virgil and Edith (Wolfe) Martin.
On Oct. 27, 1992, he married Flora Hoerner at Herington.
He was preceded in death by a son, Richard (Peewee) Martin; brother, Bobby Martin; sister, Betty Conklin; and his parents.
Survivors include his wife, Flora of Herington; three sons, Richard C. Martin Jr. of Florida, and Johnny Martin and Billy Ray Martin, both of Tulsa, Okla.; two stepsons, John Zeiner of Lost Springs and David Zeiner of Herington; four stepdaughters, Betty Ann Wheeler and Vera Messer, both of Herington, Linda Douglas of Abilene, and Flora English of Paducah, Ky; two brothers; two sisters; at least 50 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Tuesday morning at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home, Herington, with the Rev. Lorenzo Jackson officiating.
