Richard Stout
Richard "Dick" Stout, 82, died Jan. 19, 2007, at his home in Marion.
Born March 4, 1924, near Alden, he was the son of Frank and Eunice (Proffit) Stout.
He enlisted in the U.S. Coast Guard, then joined the Army Air Corps. He was retired in 1972 from the U.S. Army after 28 years of service. He drove a school bus for Sterling schools for 12 years.
On May 10, 1968, he married Vesta Smyres at Kansas City.
Survivors include his wife, Vesta of Marion; brother, Gene Stout of Wichita Falls, Texas; and four sisters, Doris Caywood of Raymond, Rosalie Nunamaker of Hutchinson, Grace Kittle of Alva, Texas, and Roberta Drake of Sterling.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. today (Wednesday) at Windom United Methodist Church, Windom.
Inurnment will be at Windom Cemetery.
A memorial fund has been established with Sterling College Alumni Association.
