Richmond, Versch named MHS students of the month

Seniors Emalee Versch and Jeff Richmond were named Marion High School students of the month for January.

Jeff, who was named winter homecoming king this past week, has played football and basketball all four years at MHS.

Other sports he competed in while at MHS were baseball two years, and track one year.

He has been in National Honor Society for three years.

Jeff attends Eastmoor United Methodist Church and is the son of Jeff Richmond and Janice Richmond and the brother of Lindsey Richmond.

Emalee has been busy both at school and in the community while attending MHS.

Her sports include, volleyball four years, basketball three years, track three years, and boys' basketball manager one year.

Other school activities include yearbook editor two years, youth team three years, youth court three years, FEA one year, FCCLA one year, secretary one year, Bigs in Schools one year, peer mediation four years, and musical two years.

Emalee is active at Valley United Methodist Church as a member of the youth group and vacation Bible school volunteer.

She is employed at Pizza Hut and is a lifeguard at Marion City Pool where she also teaches swim lessons.

Emalee is the son of Jim and Judy Versch and has four siblings, Jesse who is in the U.S. Navy, Sarah a senior at Southwestern, Joel a junior at K-State, and Jordan a seventh grader at Marion Middle School.
