Road work projects noted in school district

Tom Alstrom, superintendent of Peabody-Burns USD 398, had requested information from Marion County Road and Bridge Department regarding road work completed within the district.

Jim Herzet, county road and bridge superintendent, presented the information to Marion County Commission Jan. 17, and said it would be sent to Alstrom.

Herzet's information was for work completed in 2001 through 2005.

In 2001, there were 57.75 tons of hand patch materials used within the school district, 2,644 tons of cold mix for blade patching, and 10,388 tons of miscellaneous rock used for blade patching, sealing, and general maintenance.

In 2002, 3,964 tons of cold mix was used for blade patching, and 7,757.34 tons of miscellaneous rock were used.

In 2003, 136.5 tons of hand patching materials were used, 390 tons of blade patching materials, and 10,183.98 tons of miscellaneous rock.

In 2004, 143.5 tons of hand patching materials were used, 2,245 of cold mix for blade patching, and 16,450.56 tons of miscellaneous rock.

In 2005, 60 tons of hand patching materials were used, 1,580 tons of blade patching materials, and 9,755.08 tons of miscellaneous rock.

During the five-year period, a total of 397.75 tons of hand patch materials were used in the district, 10,823 tons of blade mix, and 54,535.15 tons of miscellaneous rock were distributed.
