Rosalie Klassen

Rosalie Klassen, 74, of Marion, died July 2, 2005, at Wesley Rehabilitation Hospital, Wichita.

Born Oct. 19, 1930, near Dalhart, Texas, she was the daughter of Jesse and Lydia (Wiens) Friesen.

Her family moved to Hillsboro when she was 10 and she graduated from Hillsboro High School in 1948.

On Nov. 10, 1950, she married Leonard Klassen. The couple farmed near Lehigh before moving to the Youngtown community in 1954. She was a homemaker and housewife.

She was a member of Youngtown United Methodist Church and Eastmoor United Methodist Church, Quilters Guild at Hillsboro, Learning in Retirement at Tabor College, and Marion Senior Center.

She was preceded in death by her parents and infant grandson, Nicholas Fisher.

Survivors include her husband, Leonard of Marion; two daughters and sons-in-law, Vickie and Marv Fisher of Wichita and Cora and Don Sorenson of Holcomb; five brothers, Alfred Friesen of Reedley, Calif., Vernon and Andy Friesen of Hillsboro, Orval Friesen of Fremont, Calif., and Norman Friesen of Shafter, Calif.; sister, Arlene Dahl of Maple Grove, Minn.; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

The family will greet friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at Zeiner Funeral Home, Marion.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Eastmoor United Methodist Church, Marion, with the Rev. John Goering officiating.

Burial will be in Springfield Cemetery, west of Hillsboro.

Memorial funds have been established with Samaritan's Purse, Eastmoor United Methodist Church, or Marion Senior Center.
