Rose Olive Hett

Rose Olive Hett, 83, died March 11, 2006, at St. Luke Hospital, Marion.

Born Jan. 3, 1923, at Olpe, she was the daughter of Albert and Rosetta (Haber) Schlender.

She was a graduate of Emporia High School and Campbell Beauty Academy. She was a beautician at Emporia, Lincolnville, and later years at Marion Manor and St. Luke Living Center.

On June 5, 1949, she married Roy Hett near Olpe. The couple lived on a farm east of Marion.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two brothers, Carl and Roy Schlender; and three sisters, Edna Bales, Ruth Schlender, and Elsie Davis.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Glen and Pam Hett of Marion; daughter and son-in-law, Wanda and George Coe of Wichita; foster son, George Bales of Topeka; and three grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Tuesday morning at Eastmoor United Methodist Church with the Rev. John Goering officiating.

Burial was in Marion Cemetery.

A memorial fund has been established with Marion Assisted Living.
