Rozelle Sklenar

Rozelle Sklenar, 63, died Oct. 9, 2004, at her home at Marion County Lake.

Born Sept. 16, 1941, in Eastland County, Texas, she was the daughter of Belton and Rose (Adams) Hatton. She grew up in Ranger, Texas, and attended school there.

On June 16, 1960, she married Joseph Sklenar at Ranger. From 1967 until the late 1990s the couple lived at Owasso, Okla., where she worked as a pharmacy technician and office manager.

She was active in St. Henry's Parish and the church altar society. She was involved with her children, participated in their activities, and enjoyed traveling with her family.

After moving to Marion, Rozelle was involved with St. Luke Hospital auxiliary and the lake community. She was a member of St. John Nep. Church, Holy Family Parish, Pilsen.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a grandson, Jordan Thomas Wiles; and two brothers, Dalton and Winfred Hatton.

Survivors include her husband, Joseph of Marion; a son, J.M. of Bixby, Okla.; a daughter, Janice Wiles of Cincinnati, Ohio; five sisters, Dorothy Godwin of Duncanville, Texas, Bernice Gildner, Peggy Lindsey, and Jenna Vee Miller, all of Arlington, Texas, and Linda Young of Eastland, Texas; and five grandchildren.

The rosary was recited Tuesday evening at Zeiner Funeral Home.

The funeral Mass was said at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. John Nep. Church, Holy Family Parish, Pilsen. Burial was in Pilsen Cemetery.

A memorial fund has been established with the Father Kapaun Guild.
