Runaway reptile captured, returned

Hillsboro Police Department responded to a report of an iguana in a tree Saturday in the 200 block of North Washington Street. The reptile was rescued by Hillsboro Fire Department and returned to its owner.

April 16: An elderly female was reported missing and was located and returned home. A welfare check was conducted in the 400 block of South Main Street. A noise complaint was filed in the 400 block of North Ash Street. Suspicious activity was reported in the 300 block of South Birch Street; officers searched a residence for a possible trespasser. A suspicious vehicle was checked on a railroad right-of-way near the west city limits.

Monday: A subject who was under house arrest was checked. Marion County Sheriff's Department received assistance with a residential search. A dog complaint was filed in the 600 block of South Lincoln Street. A property dispute in the 200 block of South Adams Street was determined to be a civil matter. Steven Jury of Hillsboro reported that a wheel and tire had been stolen from the bed of his truck; the loss was estimated at $70. A curfew citation was issued in Memorial Park. Suspicious activity was checked in the 100 block of West Grand Street.

Tuesday: A funeral escort was provided. Wichita Police Department received assistance with an investigation. A disturbance complaint in the 500 block of East D Street regarding a property dispute was determined to be a civil matter. A wanted person was arrested during a vehicle stop. A man with a gun in the 200 block of North Washington Street was reported; the subject was located and found to have a pellet gun.

Wednesday: A dog complaint was filed at D and Lincoln streets. Subjects were fingerprinted for employment purposes. A civil process was served. A trespass complaint was filed in the 500 block of East Grand Street. SRS received assistance with an investigation. Suspicious activities were reported in the 300 block of South Birch Street and at the park.

Thursday: Harassment complaints were filed in the 700 block of South Washington Street and the 200 block of North Jefferson Street. Assistance was provided to SRS with an investigation in the 200 block of South Main Street.

Friday: Hillsboro Fire Department received assistance with a residential fire west of Hillsboro. Suspicious activity was reported in the 200 block of South Birch Street. A curfew citation was issued. Suspicious activity was checked at Hillsboro Municipal Golf Course.

Saturday: Damage to a street sign at B and Madison streets was reported. Suspicious people were checked in the 400 block of South Washington Street. A curfew citation was issued.
