Marian K. Riedy, Esq., is a partner in Bode & Grenier, LLP, a law firm with headquarters in Washington, D.C.

A Hope native with a rural Ramona address, Riedy practiced at the office in D.C., for more than 20 years and recently returned to Kansas to establish a branch office.

Riedy is digitally-connected to her computer in D.C. through a VPN (Virtual Private Network).

At least eight attorneys are located in D.C., and another branch office is in Wisconsin. The firm's practice is diverse, including general business law, complex commercial litigation, environmental law, and intellectual property law.

Bode & Grenier also represents the rights of individuals in civil rights, student safety, consumer advocacy, and personal injury cases.

Riedy said the firm currently is representing families who lost loved ones in the Virginia Tech shootings.

Riedy is a 1981 graduate of Harvard Law School. She received her BA from the University of Kansas in 1977, graduating summa cum laude, and earned an MBA from Georgetown University McDonough School of Business in 2000.

She has written numerous articles on technology and the law and on legal ethics. Just this year, she authored and published a book, "Litigating with Electronically Stored Information."

She is a member of the Bar of Kansas and the District of Columbia and is working to attract clients from this area of the country.

Riedy's father, Lawrence, is deceased. Her mother, Marguerite, lives in rural Hope.
