Ruth Pauls

Ruth M. Pauls, 78, of Eldon, Iowa, died March 18, 2005, at Fairfield, Iowa.

Born May 3, 1926, at Antelope, she was the daughter of Francis and Maggie (Hammer) Boettcher.

On March 9, 1946, she married Kenneth Pauls at Marion. He died in 1993.

She was a homemaker and member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Ottumwa, Iowa, and the Sweet Adelines in the 1970s.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; a daughter, Debra; two sisters, Ellen Grove and Hazel Cloke; a brother, Edwin Boettcher; and two granddaughters.

Survivors include five sons, Dennis, David, Doug, Don, and Duane; a sister, Evelyn Benn; and brother, Wilfred Boettcher; 10 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. She also was survived by her aunt and uncle, Arnold Boettcher and Clara Bredemeier, both of Marion.

Funeral services were held at Trinity Lutheran Church, Ottumwa, with the Rev. Mathew Andersen officiating.

Burial was in Eldon Cemetery.

A memorial fund has been established with the Courageous Journey Cancer Center of the Ottumwa Regional Health Center Foundation.
