Sassy Senior Moments

By JANET BRYANT

Why not make a New Year's resolution for 2007 to come join us for lunch more often? Our meals are good and so is the conversation.

Senior Center Day was Dec. 21. Ralph Popp was elected treasurer during the business meeting. The program was given by the Kevin and Paula Herbel family from Durham. Their six older children played Christmas songs on their bells, interspersed with scripture. Jeremiah, the youngest child, also came along.

Herb and Joyce Jackson celebrated their wedding anniversary Dec. 21.

We also had a Christmas trivia contest that day. Larry Blosser and Teresa Graham won the prizes donated by craft corner.

We've had a telephone call from Blanche Cowan telling us they are settling in their Missouri home, but missing Marion friends.

Our program Dec. 27 was a video of the Singing Grannies, provided by Harold and Virginia Bowers.

Please note that full pay meals (for those under 60) will be $4.50 beginning in January.

Come join us as we celebrate Elvis' birthday Monday! We will have displays and play recorded Elvis music during the day. At 6 p.m. teenage Elvis, Marc Baker from Wichita, will perform. We are told he's "awesome." We will be selling sloppy joes, chips, and pop.
