Sassy Senior Moments

By JANET BRYANT

Senior center reporter

We ended 2006 and began 2007 since my last column, singing "Auld Lang Syne" on Dec. 29 and "Happy New Year Everybody" on Jan. 2.

Evelyn Jewett reported the quilters had completed nine or 10 quilts in 2006. Some were baby quilts. They finished up a T-shirt quilt in December and now are working on their first quilt of the new year.

Sue Clough provided our program Jan. 3. She sang several selections, accompanied by Shirley Bowers.

Lanell Hett's birthday was Jan. 2. She had received an Elvis jigsaw puzzle for Christmas and Ivanlee Timm had put it together and framed it for her. It now hangs in splendor in Lanell's office so we all can stop by and admire it.

We're closed Jan. 15 for Martin Luther King Jr.'s birthday, then open until Memorial Day!

Come join us for lunch on Senior Center Day Jan. 18. There will be a program after lunch.
