Sassy Senior Moments

By JANET BRYANT

Senior center reporter

We serve meals at the senior center no matter what the weather. We deliver meals no matter the weather. The only exception is if school is canceled due to weather. Be sure and thank our meal delivery people if they bring your meal on a snowy day!

June and Lois Jost shared a card they had received from Blanche and Charlie Cowan, who miss all their Marion friends.

Madonna Schafers brought in some of her artwork to display.

We had to mount a campaign of positive affirmations to keep chicken enchiladas on our monthly menus. The enchilada faction did prevail, so join us Feb. 27 for this favorite meal.

Sue Clough brought treats one day for no reason at all. Or to get them out of her house.

Shirley Bowers called bingo Jan. 25 and will do the same the last Friday of each month.

The penny jar was taken to the bank to be counted. The total was $17.13. Shirley Bowers guessed the closest at $16.99.

We celebrated Kansas Day with some trivia questions and by singing "Home on the Range."

Jeanne Maki presented a program on good nutrition and also on a food distribution program.

Join us Feb. 13 when Barbara Abbott will give a program on snowflakes. On Valentine's Day, Madonna Schafers and Sue Clough will give a musical program.

We're planning a trip to the Crown Uptown dinner theater in Wichita in February, a Thursday matinee. The show is "Ring of Fire." Call Shirley Moore for details, 382-3758.
