Sassy Senior Moments

By JANET BRYANT

Senior center reporter

The senior center is a bright spot on these gray, snowy days. There's always a good conversation, a jigsaw puzzle being worked on, pool players anxious for new people, quilting to watch or do, often a work of art to critique, plus good food at noon.

Sue Clough brought her art done in pastels for our easel, and Albert Steele brought a buffalo done in cross-stitch for Kansas Day. It was done by his wife, Kay, in 1984.

We had a note from Estelle McCarty, who is recovering from surgery, staying with her daughter in Springfield, Mo.

Ralph Popp presided during noontime on Kansas Day. There were handouts for everyone to celebrate the day.

I apologize for forgetting to observe Bubble Wrap Appreciation Day Jan. 30. I thought we'd sit around and pop the bubbles to music.

Just a reminder: we still have two sets of keys found in our parking lot.

Come join us for lunch on Senior Center Day, Feb. 15, when candidates for mayor of Marion will be the guest speakers.
