Sassy Senior Moments

St. Patrick's Day decorations have been placed on tables by Wilma Gilmer and we are ready for March.

Looking back in February, we had a special presentation to Dick Pracht, thanking him for his volunteer work. He comes in and vacuums every week, muttering if we have toothpicks on the floor. We assembled a box of edible goodies for him.

Harold Bowers celebrated his 94th birthday Feb. 22 and provided ice cream cups. He also did some reminiscing.

Norine Holtsclaw brought two framed pictures she had painted to be placed on the easels. Albert Steele later provided a painting.

We started reading "Why the chicken crossed the road," as explained by notable people in their style and outlook. Dr. Phil, Oprah, Martha Stewart, and Judge Judy each had a unique and funny answer to this important question.

Since Shirley Bowers couldn't be here for Harold's birthday, she came in the next day and played his favorite song, "Red Wing," on the piano.

Sue Clough provided fresh oranges to celebrate her birthday which was Feb. 25.

Blanche Cowan called from Stockton, Mo. They are settling in well in their new community but miss Marion folks.

If anyone has a deep freeze they would like to donate to the senior center, give us a call.

Joyce Kellison brought her keyboard Feb. 28 and provided a musical program.

Come join us March 15 for Senior Center Day. Marion County Sheriff Lee Becker will be speaking about the proposed law enforcement center.

A trip to see the Titanic exhibit at Exploration Place in Wichita is planned for March 20. Call the center for more information.
