CORRESPONDENTS:   Sassy Senior Moments years ago

Senior center reporter

It's the first day of spring as I write, and we say "Hooray!"

Maybe all of the different shades of green we wore on St. Patrick's Day helped. We also played a story game with responses to St. Patrick-type words. The most fun was waving our hands and stomping our feet to the word "leprechaun."

Evelyn Jewett celebrated her birthday March 17. She is the person who keeps the quilters hard at work here at the center.

The crew that assembles the newsletter was busy St. Patrick's Day and included Ivanlee Timm, Harvey Wells, Ernie Hurtel, Albert Steele, Sue Clough, Norma Woerz, Evelyn Jewett, Lindsay Hett, and Lanell Hett who was in charge. They enjoyed blarney stones afterward.

March 19 was Senior Center Day. We had nearly 60 people to eat enchiladas — one of our most popular menus. Bennie Holtsclaw provided a musical program.

Come join us for lunch April 2. The program will be provided by the new cancer outreach nurse from Salina Regional Health Center.
