Sassy Senior Moments

By JANET BRYANT

Senior center reporter

This place has been full of energy this week, energy we receive when groups or new people. Being on our best behavior keeps us on our toes.

Residents from St. Luke Living Center joined us for lunch March 15. Our program for that day was Marion County Sheriff Lee Becker telling about the proposed law enforcement center.

Evelyn Jewett brought treats March 16 to celebrate her birthday, which was the 17th.

We were invited to the living center March 18 to celebrate Lydia Batt's 95th birthday. She had been a loyal quilter here for years.

We commented on watching Norma Hannaford on Channel 10 Sunday evening. She's an example of aging gracefully.

Nine of us went to Exploration Place in Wichita March 20 for the Titanic exhibit. Those going included Keith and Norine Holtsclaw, Janet Bryant, Shirley Moore, Jane Vajnar, Mary Ann Wiens, Dorothy Conyers, Shirley Bowers, and van driver, Leonard Klassen. Each person was given a boarding pass of someone actually on the voyage. At the end of the exhibit there were listings of survivors and those who perished. Sadly, the person I was did not survive.

Hilltop Manor residents ate with us March 21. We enjoyed a program of Irish music given by Madonna Schafers, accompanied by Ellen Darrow.

We observed National Nutrition Month March 21. Two local officials were invited to help deliver meals. Gene Winkler and Jami Williams were good help, I'm told.

Come join us for lunch April 4. The program will be given by Hospice Care of Kansas, Salina.
