Sassy Senior Moments

By JANET BRYANT

Senior center reporter

We had a huge crowd May 10, many for lunch, even more for Noreen Weems' retirement reception. There were many heartfelt tributes, funny stories, presentations, and emotional moments.

A warm welcome was given to Jayne Gottschalk, newly hired as director of the department for elderly.

We also had a presentation May 10 by Janet Herzet with Marion County Homecare.

Our dancing ladies went to El Dorado to see what kind of music, dances, and dance partners are available there. These dances are on Thursdays and closer than Lyons or Salina dance events.

Placemats for Mother's Day were created by Elsie Reiswig.

Pauline Edmunds wore her bunny apron for us May 14. She had won a prize with it at the Ramona Tea Party.

Ivanlee Timm has begun a new jigsaw puzzle, selected from our stack by Madonna Schafers. It is borderless! It has extra pieces! What fun.

The craft corner only has one fingertip towel left to sell. We invite the donation of these towels or the completed product.

Join us for lunch May 30 when Dennis Burch of Lincolnville will be back with more gospel music.
