Sassy Senior Moments

By JANET BRYANT

Marion Senior Center reporter

Come in to the senior center for cool dining pleasure. Some days we have garden produce to give away, books to give away, greeting cards to buy, quilters to watch.

Shirley Moore got a new kitchen gadget and brought the results to us Aug. 2. They were thin cookies, called pizelles.

We played TV trivia for several days. This group is very good at this kind of trivia and is ready to challenge any other senior center to a contest.

Our penny jar was full again so we spent a week gathering guesses. The bank counted the coins. The result was $22.33. Luella Popp was closest, with $22.72.

Come join us for lunch Aug. 22. Our speaker will be from AARP Kansas. They have a program called Divided We Fall urging elected officials to work together to fix the health care system.
