Sassy Senior Moments

By JANET BRYANT

We had our pre-Thanksgiving meal Nov. 20 with more than 60 people eating at the center and sending 50 meals out. We're thankful for our cook, our assistant cook, dining room volunteers, and all our meals on wheels drivers.

There was an impromptu party Saturday when some repair work was done. Someone needed to be on hand to find things and help the handyman, so several people brought snacks, played cards, and had a great time.

Madonna Schafers displayed the baby quilt she recently made.

Marilyn Geis brought semi-homemade cookies to celebrate her birthday, which was Nov. 18.

The area agency presented the county nutrition sites with a VCR-DVD player. It is meant to use with exercise videos, mostly.

Shirley Moore is offering a ride to view Marion Christmas lights in December. Call if you are interested.

Harold and Vivian Conyers brought treats for their wedding anniversary.

We welcomed residents of Hilltop Manor Nov. 20. Thanksgiving placemats were computer-generated by Elsie Reiswig.

Father Hien gave the program Nov. 21 on Senior Center Day. He told of his miraculous escape from communist Vietnam.

Dwight and Helen Beckham and Mick and Noreen Weems were present before preparing the hospice tree at Central Park.

Come join us for lunch Dec. 5 when the program will be given by Nancy Karst, Hospice Care of Kansas.
