Sassy senior moments: Center guest requires booster seat

Herb and Joyce Jackson brought Josh and Lisa Wesner as guests Thursday. He is the new pastor at Emmanuel Baptist Church. They also brought their little one along. We had to scramble for a booster seat plus some pillows — and were happy to do so.

We celebrated St. Patrick's Day and several birthdays this week. Our menu on St. Patrick's Day was corned beef, cabbage, potatoes, and graham crackers with green frosting. We also had birthday treats that day from Albert Steele and Evelyn Jewett.

We heard several Irish jokes and listened to Irish tapes provided by Marilyn Geis.

Mary Hett had a show and tell from her time spent in waiting rooms while her husband, Marvin, was hospitalized. A gentleman waiting was crocheting and gave Mary one of his creations. It looked like a red pepper pot holder to me. I may get corrected.

Lydia Batt brought cookies to celebrate her 94th birthday which was Sunday.

Our easels have been empty so Madonna Schafers brought in a painting by Tillie Schafers that Tillie had given her.

We learned Wednesday to play card bingo. It is a game of chance, no real thinking required. Several people brought in prizes for the game.

Shirley Bowers will have her quilts on display beginning Friday.

Come join us for lunch April 5 when Kathie Irwin of Mennonite Manor at Hutchinson will speak on staying active.
