Sassy senior moments: Center receives compliments

By JANET BRYANT

Senior center reporter

The best kept secret in Marion has to be what good food is served at the senior center and what good fun we have each day. I laughed so hard at the one-liners zinging past me at lunch Thursday that my ears hurt. We like the company we keep. There's room for more, so come join us.

A couple of people we deliver meals to called to compliment our cook, Henrietta Waner, on our July 1 picnic-type menu. The hot dogs were special ordered and were excellent. Another person ate lasagna at the center and thought we should have it everyday.

We celebrated July 6 by honoring Harold and Virginia Bowers on their wedding anniversary, and Viola Kelsey and Joyce Kellison for their recent birthdays.

Joyce played music on her keyboard before lunch. Afterward Grace Yoder entertained us with jokes and the poem "When I Live with My Kids."

Keith Holtsclaw brought his blue ribbon painting of the American eagle and American flags to place on our easel.

Come join us for Senior Center Day, July 20. Our entertainment will be given by Wildwood Dulcimers of Burns.
