Sassy senior moments: Lunch bunch getting out of hand

By JANET BRYANT

Senior center reporter

As I write this I'm recovering from eating lunch here with people who are so funny that my ears hurt from laughing so hard. We seriously are considering appointing table monitors to keep things under control. What a way to spend lunch hour.

We welcomed two new volunteers this week. Joyce Kellison started helping in the dining room and Leonard Klassen is delivering meals one day a week. We've also had Richard Kellison and Larry Blosser helping deliver meals.

Those who eat here and those to whom we deliver meals have been completing the annual customer satisfaction cards. There may be some interesting comments, hopefully of a positive nature.

June Jost celebrated his birthday Wednesday. We had such a good crowd that he had to buy more treats. After lunch Gene Vinduska entertained us with his accordion and vocal music. He played polkas and waltzes. I do believe there were some dancers in the kitchen.

Joyce Kellison brought a painting to display and promised to bring more.

We are collecting money and items for hurricane relief via Golden Heritage Foods at Hillsboro.

SherBowls Lane has adaptive devices to help people who like to bowl but cannot lift or handle the ball. You might check this out if interested.

We can use extra egg cartons. If you have extras, drop them by the center.

Join us for lunch Sept. 14. Mike Hadley is bringing in a karaoke machine for us to enjoy.
