Sassy senior moments: Many attend Medicare presentation

By JANET BRYANT

Have you ever been to the senior center to eat lunch? How long ago was that? Things always change when new people start participating. We just have so much fun every day, and eat a good meal. We want others to come join us. If there is an activity that you'd like to see offered, let us know, we'll try it.

We had 60 people eating lunch Thursday prior to a Medicare prescription drug presentation by Mary Livington of Emporia. Approximately 25 more attended the program after lunch.

This week we celebrated two birthdays, Estelle McCarty furnished ice cream cups Aug. 22. Larry Blosser brought candy bars the next day. Each proudly wore the official birthday hat as we sang to them.

We had a note from Doris Ewert who is in Colorado for an extended stay.

Joyce Kellison brought a wild poinsettia to give away, claiming it will take over wherever planted. Three people divided the plant.

Albert Steele brought in a plaque he had made in 1958 in an art class in Neodesha. Our easels are available for any type of art.

Join us Sept. 7 when Madonna Schafers and Ellen Darrow will present a musical program.
