Sassy senior moments: Senior center receives early gift of volunteers

By JANET BRYANT

Nov. 24-Dec. 1

Our appetites are back after Thanksgiving and we're ready to enjoy December menus.

Check out the craft corner here. There are different items for sale all the time. We encourage those who are embroidering tea towels to work quickly because those towels are in demand.

A letter was read from Darrell and Beulah Weigart who are in Arizona for several weeks. Darrell delivers meals four days a week with Ivanlee Timm, so we're scrambling to fill in for him.

The last day of November was an amazing day for me. There were three people who called or came by offering to volunteer in the dining room or delivering meals. Three people in one day, a record of some kind.

Janet Marler, city librarian, brought Christmas books to show us. The library also will order books to be given as gifts.

Come join us for lunch Dec. 14. Shirley Bowers will lead a Christmas carol sing-along.
