Sassy senior moments: Senior center welcomes Shirley Moore as new volunteer

Feb. 2-8

We are glad to have Shirley Moore as a new dining room volunteer.

We're starting to think spring. Joyce Kellison brought in an amaryllis in bloom. We also have a new Senior Center Sensations Walk Kansas team, ready to go in mid-March. The team consists of Blanche Cowan, Virginia Downing, Thelma Blosser, Norine Holtsclaw, Shirley Bowers, and Janet Bryant.

We welcomed the Marion County Democratic Women Friday. They will be eating lunch and having their meeting here each month.

Many came wearing red on that day to support women's heart health. Lee Leiker came with an update on the proposed school construction project.

Madonna Schafers and Sue Clough sang Valentine-type songs Wednesday for us. Their voices blend very well. Ellen Darrow was their accompanist.

Come join us Feb. 22 for lunch. We'll have a two-part program afterward. Herb Jackson will sing and the Head Start students will be here at 12:50 p.m.
