Sassy Senior Moments: Seniors celebrate unique days

By JANET BRYANT

Senior center reporter

We've celebrated some unique days this week, including May 19 as Hug Your Cat Day and Celebrate Your Elected Officials Day (or the other way around). International Tiara Day was May 24. I had to apologize for not talking about this ahead of time because several people claimed to have tiaras at home. They would have worn them, I'm sure.

We received a postcard from Larry and Thelma Blosser, who were in Colorado. Of course, they were back by the time the postcard arrived.

Shirley Bowers brought in a vase full of deep pink peonies to share with us.

We had breaking news May 23, when Lanell Hett proudly announced that son Travis had become the high school 3A golf champion the day before.

Blanche Cowan brought treats May 24 for her birthday. Our program for the day was postponed, so we watched the video of the Marion High School junior-senior promenade.

Come join us for lunch June 7 when the program will be Noreen Weems.
