Sassy senior moments: Seniors share wisdom, news, food

By JANET BRYANT

There is so much sharing at the senior center, of wisdom and family news and things grown or created.

June Jost gave us a safety tip one day — how to get out of a car when you're locked inside. He spoke from experience.

Evelyn Jewett brought her shamrock plant to spend a couple days here.

Charles Montgomery brought treats for his birthday Wednesday and insisted on wearing the birthday hat.

A cucumber fairy dropped off two bags at the front door one day. Tillie Schwendiman also brought some.

We had a program Wednesday on osteoporosis given by Dana Carmen. She works in the mobile van that comes to Marion Family Physicians clinic monthly. She also did some basic bone density tests.

I attended a Marion County senior center managers' meeting at Goessel. As always I came back totally convinced that Marion Senior Center is the best.

National Ice Cream Day is Sunday so on Friday we had some cool facts about ice cream. It takes 50 licks to finish a one scoop ice cream cone. Vanilla is the most popular flavor. Would you believe Neapolitan is number three?

Come join us July 27 for lunch and a mystery program.
