Sassy senior moments: Shirley Bowers displays quilts

By JANET BRYANT

Senior center reporter

March 30-April 5

We closed our March activities with a quilt display March 31 provided by Shirley Bowers. She brought quilts she had made over the years for her children and grandchildren, each specially designed for that child. What wonderful keepsakes!

Shirley Moore brought in some containers of molasses for those who wanted them.

The jigsaw puzzle enthusiasts are finishing a puzzle that contains clues to solve a murder mystery. There is a story that provides the background. I read it and knew for sure who was the murderer. Then I held the answer up to a mirror to read it and I was no detective. I was totally wrong.

Madonna Schafers is a new employee doing all kinds of odd jobs. You should see the big plant in our entryway. It now has very shiny leaves, thanks to Madonna.

We've been dealing with "What would you do?" situations. There are several possible answers or people can think up their own. We have some very clever (and hilarious) answers given. By the time you read this, we will have had two speakers on staying active and using one's brain. I'd say the senior center regulars already are a step ahead. And sassy, too.

Come join us April 19 for lunch on Senior Center Day. The program will be given by Norman Ensz on beekeeping.
