Sassy Senior Moments: Spring is good time to volunteer

By JANET BRYANT

If the thought of spring has given you a burst of energy and a song in your heart, why not go a step further and come in to the senior center? Use that extra energy to volunteer as a dining room helper or deliver meals. Or just get out of the house and join us for lunch! Some days we have 50 people eating here, enjoying good food and lots of fun. You could get in shape by walking to music each day at 11:30 a.m. or riding the exercise bicycle when you want.

There were four people going to the Crown Uptown March 6 to see "Ring of Fire," a musical about Johnny Cash. They were Sue Clough, Shirley Bowers, and Roger and LaDonna Giesbrecht.

If you aren't on the Department for Elderly newsletter list, call the office to get this informative mailing.

We celebrated Madonna Schafers' birthday March 10 with ice cream and Joyce Jackson's March 11.

Almeda Kahns came in from Lincolnville to eat with us and brought an afghan to display.

Retired St. Luke Hospital personnel ate with us March 12. Steve Smith presented a program on the yellow dot and vial of life systems for quick identification needed during emergencies. Jamie Shirley distributed information packets.

Come join us March 26 when Jami Williams will give a presentation about economic development.

Monthly bingo will be after lunch March 28.
