Jan. 19-25

We celebrated Beulah and Darrell Weigart's 57th wedding anniversary Jan. 23. We also welcomed Barbara Killingsworth as a new dining room volunteer.

We've had such a good week at the senior center, eating popcorn, having show-and-tell, and looking at artwork.

We also hosted Senior Citizens of Marion County board meeting Jan. 20. This allowed us to sit in on reports and business to give us all a sense of what goes on.

Mary Mae Hett brought in an afghan she made, which was a brilliant shade of blue.

We then had an unexpected show-and-tell day. People just showed up with things. Almeda Kahns brought a sleeping stuffed toy cat "to help out with my varmint problem at my house," she explained.

Mary Ann Timm brought a singing Lee Greenwood doll and I explained my newly purchased dashboard diva. Madonna Schafers brought a box of chocolates so we could have show-and-eat.

We have new art by Keith and Norine Holtsclaw on our easels and a framed puzzle completed by Ivanlee Timm.

National Compliment Day was Wednesday. We took time to say nice things to those sitting by us.

Our program Wednesday was given by Michael Jacobs who is a naturopathic physician. He spoke as a proponent of treating the whole person, emphasizing prevention as well as treatment of symptoms.

Join us Wednesday for lunch when Madonna Schafers will provide Valentine vocal music.
