Sassy Seniors: Puzzles, pool, and playing popular at center

Feb. 9-15

We've had a fairly quiet week at the senior center, putting jigsaw puzzles together, playing pool, listening to Liberace on a CD, and trying to convince someone to take some tea towels to embroider.

We celebrated two occasions Friday, Wilma Gilmer's birthday and Charlie and Blanche Cowan's 60th wedding anniversary.

Valentine's Day brought donuts for those who eat here and we added conversation heart candies. We played some word games, thinking of famous couples and finishing love-theme quotations.

Senior Center Day was Wednesday. Albert Steele and Kathy Hurst each brought candy to share. The program was given by Estelle McCarty who sang her signature Patsy Cline songs.

A van trip to the Cosmosphere in Hutchinson for the showing of "Mystery of the Nile" is being planned. Cost is $11.50 for the show and transportation. Call the center to reserve a spot. The date has not been set, but will be in the near future.

Come for lunch March 1. Our program will be given by Janet Ingram, Avon cancer nurse, of Salina.
