Save those receipts
Carlsons' and Marion-Florence USD 408 have started the Register Tapes for Education Program for the 2005-06 school year. Everyone who shops at Carlsons' is encouraged to drop their receipts in a contest box. One percent of every dollar collected from Oct. 1 to March 30 will go toward free educational equipment for USD 408 students. Last year the program, sponsored by Affiliated Foods, collected just more than $270,000 dollars which gave the school district $2,700. All three schools purchased digital cameras. The school purchased learning materials for the elementary students with the leftover money.
