Scents can make you feel special

In last week's Marion County Record, Pat Wick brought up an interesting subject, perfume. It brought back some events in my life which were connected with that product. I too have been in a car when one of my friends wore an overpowering scent.

I know a woman who couldn't attend church because she was allergic to the odor of perfume worn by someone in the congregation.

When my friend Mable and I were in Milan, Italy, we were determined to get into the La Scala Opera House. Having arrived late, we ran all the way to get in. There was a German orchestra performing and the place was packed. However, we did make it up to a balcony, standing room only, and we were packed in like sardines. Someone in that crowd was wearing a heavenly smelling perfume. I thought, I'm going to find that special scent.

When we got to Paris, I visited several shops and tried to describe it to the clerks. They would let me sniff several bottles and I finally decided I had discovered it. Of course I was thrilled and had to make a purchase. I still remember it. it was called Replique.

Aren't women crazy?

My niece, Cynthia, when she was only three or four years old, especially liked one of her mother's friends because she "smelled" so good.

A lot of actresses promote their own product and the bigger the celebrity the more expensive it is. The point is, that when you wear it you feel so special. So there!
