Scholarships awarded to area students

Eighteen area students recently received scholarships from Emporia State University for the 2005-06 academic year.

They were: Megan O'Dell and Krista Zogelman, Florence; Zachary Plenert, Jacob Unruh, and Lindsey Unruh, Goessel; Chelsi Carlson and Janine Hageberg, Hillsboro; Brian Bina, Carla Carlson, Kelsey Craig, Marlene Goentzel, Andrew Holt, Tambra Johnson, Maggie Powers, Allison Smith, and Amy Tajchman, Marion; Jonathan Foth, Peabody; and Raschelle Jirak, Ramona.

Students earn degrees from KU

Area students recently earned degrees from the University of Kansas, Lawrence.

Andrew Myers, Peabody-Burns High School graduate and son of Barbara Anderson, Burns, earned a bachelor of science in computer science; Jacqueline Grunau, Hillsboro High School graduate and daughter of Charles Grunau, Hillsboro, a bachelor of arts in anthropology; and Ethan Good, Marion High School graduate and son of Bob and JoAnn Good, Marion, a master of science in aerospace engineering.
