Scholarships, awards presented at Centre scholastic night

Centre High School students were presented awards and scholarships Thursday at Scholastic Achievement Night.

Scholarships

Samantha Alvarez: counselor's scholarship, Academy of Hair Design, Salina.

Nick Cole: senior welding competition scholarship, Tulsa Welding School.

Ethan Forsberg: senior welding competition scholarship, Tulsa Welding School.

Bryant Brunner: academic scholarship, Butler Community College.

Andy Carlson: Centre FFA award; FFA alumni award; and Kansas Vocational Scholarship Award.

Amy Hajek: activity academic scholarship, Kansas State University; Tampa State Bank scholarship.

Ryan Richmond: Centre FFA award; Michael and Elizabeth Evancho award; and the Kansas Vocational Scholarship Award.

Ida Saadon: academic achievement award, Kansas State University.

Hanna Kemble: activity academic scholarship, Kansas State University; Loren E. and Clara Mowrer scholarship.

Brooke Carlson: Manhattan Christian College presidential academic scholarship.

Kylie Burhoop: Tri-County Telephone scholarship; Hillsboro American Legion Post 366 scholarship; Loren E. and Clara Mowrer scholarship.

Nellie Hill: University achievement scholarship and Department of Agriculture award, Kansas State University; FFA alumni award; Centre FFA award; PEO scholarship; AFA Cooperative Grain & Supply award; and Loren E. and Clara Mowrer scholarship.

Justine Jennings: Leadership scholarship award, Kansas State University; Loren E. and Clara Mowrer scholarship.

Nikki Stenzel: Academic achievement scholarship and class rank award, Kansas State University; Leos Club award; Loren E. and Clara Mowrer scholarship.

Kristine Jirak: Tri-County Telephone scholarship; FFA alumni award; Leo Jirak Memorial award; Newman Fine Arts Scholarship; presidential academic award scholarship and alumni scholarship, Newman University; Hillsboro American Legion Post 366 scholarship; Kansas State scholar award; Marion County 4-H award; Loren E. and Clara Mowrer scholarship.

Tye Remy: Kansas State University activity academic scholarship; Acacia Leadership Fraternity scholarship, Kansas State University; Robert A. Kleinschmidt award; Loren E. and Clara Mowrer scholarship.

Julie Rziha: Benedictine College academic achievement award; National FFA Farm Aid award; FFA alumni award; Kansas State scholar award; Robert C. Byrd Congressional scholarship (one of 15 from each congressional district; one of 60 from Kansas); Loren E. and Clara Mowrer scholarship.

Kansas Honor Scholars award (top 10 percent academically in state): Kristine Jirak, Julie Rziha, Nikki Stenzel.

KWCH-TV Wichita Best in Class award and governor's scholar award: Julie Rziha.

Topeka Capital-journal award, academic all-state honorable mention: Kristine Jirak.

State of Kansas Board of Regents curriculum completion: Brooke Carlson, Kelsey Hatfield, Justine Jennings, Kristine Jirak, Julie Rziha, Ida Saadon, Nikki Stenzel.
