Scotts to celebrate 50th anniversary years ago

Dolores and Ron Scott of Emporia will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary from 7 to 9:30 p.m. June 11 with an open reception in Salon IV of the Wichita Hilton, 2098 Airport Road, Wichita.

Dolores (Dee Srajer) of Tampa and Ron Scott of Garfield were married July 7, 1954, in Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Tampa.

Reception hosts are the couple's four children, Debra and husband Terry Dody of Branson, Mo., Pamela and husband Bill Fillmore of Cottonwood Falls, Rebecca and husband John Nottingham of Ozawkie, and Richard and wife Anna Marie of Houston. They have three grandchildren and three step-grandsons.

Ron has worked in the mental health field in the social work department at Larned State Hospital, as director of Great Bend Mental Health Center, clinical social worker at Mental Health Center of East Central Kansas in Emporia, and director and psychotherapist Catholic Community Services of Emporia. He is semi-retired with a private practice.

Dee worked a variety of part-time secretarial and bookkeeping jobs in Larned and Emporia before completing her degree in education. She is retired after teaching 20 years in USD 244 Burlington.
