Second graders share Thanksgiving recipes

Thanksgiving may be a holiday to give thanks for our blessings, but for many of us, the high point of the day is the traditional Thanksgiving feast. Although it varies from home to home, the main menu items typically include turkey and pumpkin pie.

This year the Marion County Record asked second grade students at Marion and Centre elementary schools to imagine they are the family cooks and how they would make a turkey or pumpkin pie. Our appreciation to second grade instructors Lynette Jost and Michelle Adkins at MES and Shirley Gutsch at CES for their help with this project.

Following are the second graders' recipes.
