Semi-pro football league looking for area players

Midwestern States Football league is looking for area players to compete in its inaugural fall season beginning in August.

Players over the age of 18 in Harvey, McPherson, and Marion counties are being sought to play in the semi-professional league.

The league consists of 12 teams:

Arkansas City Bandits, Newton Stars, Wichita Storm, Hutchinson Stallions, Salina Bulldogs, Great Bend Predators, Hays Thunder, McPherson Jags, Emporia Outlaws, Ottawa Eagles, Topeka Capitals, and the El Dorado Drillers.

Anyone interested in playing on the not-for-profit league currently must not be playing for any other league or team.

The Newton Stars have named former football coach and current league owner, Leroy Roseberry head coach. Brandon Ashby, a graduate of Oklahoma Christian College, was named the teams' general manager.
