Senior center: Seniors hear about trip

We had an overflow-crowd July 19 for Senior Center Day. It was probably because of Leonard Klassen's program on his trip through Canada and Alaska. Or it could have been the guest appearance of Marilyn Monroe. She was portrayed by Thelma Blosser with a blonde wig and high heels. It was the anniversary of Marilyn's first screen test in 1946. Many of us had our photograph taken with "Marilyn."

We celebrated Charles Montgomery's birthday July 13, and then were told to celebrate Cow Appreciation Day July 15.

There was a call from Peabody Senior Center asking for a performance of our melodrama. This may not actually happen but it's nice to be famous.

We started a new mystery jigsaw puzzle, "B is for Bullet." After dumping the pieces out, we discovered there were two separate puzzles. That's why Keith Holtsclaw had said there were six corners to this puzzle.

Come join us July 28 for card bingo. We won't be having a program Aug. 2. Instead we'll have Bobbi Strait speak Aug. 4. She is the Marion County Sanitarian and Planning and Zoning Administrator.
