Shelby Deines leads CJHS

Centre Junior High School girls won all three road games they played this past week.

The varsity defeated Herington Jan. 16. The low-scoring game found Centre on top by quarters, 6-4, 12-7, 22-10, and 24-14.

Shelby Deines was leading scorer with eight points. Josie Peterson scored six points, Ripley Howard and Carlye Simons four each, and Tori Schill two.

The B-team defeated Herington, 16-9. Dallas Rosenow scored nine points, DJ Chavers five, and Allison Shields two.

The varsity defeated Wakefield Thursday, 20-17. They led by two, 10-8, at halftime, and scored 10 points in the second half compared to nine by Wakefield to win by three points.

Deines again was leading scorer with 10 points. Peterson added five, Simons three, and Sammi Seifert and Howard one each.

The B-team defeated Wakefield, 15-10. Scorers were Shields, four, Peterson, three, and Chavers, Emily Staatz, Schill, and Katie Remy, two each.
