Shirley Schmidt
Shirley Ann Schmidt, 72, of Hesston, died Jan. 10, 2008.
Born March 28, 1935, at Lehigh, she was the daughter of Ed and Esther (Schmidt) Plenert.
On Aug. 15, 1969, she married Allen Schmidt at Hillsboro.
She worked in the health care industry for Bethel Home for the Aging and Kidron Bethel Health Care for many years.
She was preceded in death by her father; and son, James Schmidt.
Survivors include her husband, Allen of Hesston; mother, Esther Plenert of Hillsboro; and two brothers, Jerry Plenert and Alan Plenert, both of Canton.
Funeral services were conducted Monday afternoon at First Mennonite Church, Newton, with Pastor Clarence Rempel officiating.
Burial was in Restlawn Gardens of Memory.
A memorial fund has been established with First Mennonite Church.
