Sign up for chili cook-off
Marion County Lake chili cook-off and garage sale day is Nov. 3.
The chili cook-off will be from noon to 4 p.m. at the lake hall.
Entries still are being accepted for the cook-off or people can sign up that day to participate. Individual entries are free, businesses are $20. Participants can cook the chili on site or bring already prepared chili from home. Participants are responsible for their cookware and ingredients.
A sample kit can be purchased with visitors sampling the different chili offered by the competitors. Those visitors then will vote for their favorite chili. Bowls of chili also will be available to purchase.
At 4 p.m., door prizes will be awarded and awards presented. Trophies will be awarded to the top three chili cooks. A traveling trophy will be presented for the best chili. All of the proceeds will be used for lake improvements.
Garage sales will be conducted all day by lake residents.
