Song on the Lawn is Sunday

Bring lawn chairs to the second annual Song on the Lawn which will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the farm of Maynard Knepp and Carol Duerksen between Goessel and Hillsboro.

The mini-musical festival and meal will feature seven groups from Buhler, Wichita, Hillsboro, and Goessel.

Jake Schmidt of Buhler will be on stage that evening, along with the Generation Gap, a blues/gospel group headed up by Doug Everingham of Wichita.

Coming from Hillsboro will be the Lighthouse Quartet, and the Goessel/Newton area will be represented by The Book of JEBB, Bill Froese with Brian Voth, Doug and Jude Krehbiel, and friends (including Rollin Schmidt), and the Country Cat Tails featuring Hannah and Rachel Miller and friends.

The event will include a pulled pork meal and all the trimmings and ice cream. Donations will be accepted for the meal and entertainment. Proceeds will benefit Joyful Noise Community Child Care Center, Goessel.

The farm is located from Goessel, three miles north on K-15, four miles east, three-fourths mile north. From Hillsboro, four miles south on Indigo, three miles west, three-fourths mile north.
